An Independence Day Message from Ntirety CEO Emil Sayegh

I want to take a moment and wish you all a happy and safe Fourth of July. On this day in 1776, courageous members of the Continental Congress—people soon to be “Americans”—published a moral standard by which we continue to evaluate our actions to this day:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all people are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

As each of us is celebrating, let us take a moment to reflect that we must honor those principals by making them a reality. That standard is what Dr. King described many years later in his famous “I Have a Dream” speech:

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Let’s all continue to bring justice and equality up to the “gold” standard that the founders of this nation set. On this day, let’s also thank all of those in uniform who have sacrificed to defend our country so that we can live with the freedoms we so cherish as well as the front line health workers that are defending us from the current pandemic.
